We need public works for the working class. We need to use various tools to grow public employment on the workers' terms. We have a plan for municipal internet and need to implement it. We need public energy projects to free us from National Grid’s monopoly. And we need more choices in housing, from social housing built by Albany Housing Authority, expanding the community Land Trust, and promoting models of cooperative real estate.

To get more and spend less, we need planning and programs for production, sharing, and reusing to reduce trash, cut city expenses, and save household budgets.

We need more democracy: empower community associations, providing them the funding stream the bids have via tax sharing. Formalize partnerships to cut lapses in progress, make participatory budgeting and governance the standard, improve access to voting with registration and vote by mail; Proportional representation in seats and voting methods that better represent voter preferences.

On the front end we need a department of public safety that provides crisis response teams to better de-escalate and manage anti-social behavior and violence. We need a safe consumption site for users and targeted patrols to get sellers off the streets. Investigate possible collusion between police and organized crime. On the back end we must address the causes of crime (poverty/inequality) with community owned economic development, access to mediation services, a progressive fines structure, and increase the use of restorative justice to provide meaningful consequences.

Push for Passage of the NY Health Act (single payer health insurance, lower costs, increase access), A state Social Housing Authority (Build public Housing), and Free SUNY and BOESS, and restore tax sharing on the state level.
